Eunhee Kim / Executive Director
Eunhee Kim earned her PhD in environmental chemistry from the Marine Estuarine Environmental Sciences (MEES) program at the University of Maryland, where she researched the biogeochemical cycling of trace metals in marine environments.
Since 2014, she has been involved in activities such as the expansion of marine protected areas (MPAs) in Antarctica, the eradication of IUU (illegal, unreported, and unregulated) fishing, and marine conservation efforts in coastal and Exclusive Economic Zones (EEZs), along with international cooperation. She is dedicated to improving science-based policies for marine ecosystem conservation.

Jungdo Kim / Head of Climate & Ocean Research Division
Over the past 13 years, Jungdo Kim has focused on developing and institutionalizing environmental policies, with key areas of activity including the expansion of MPAs, the promotion of renewable energy, and the encouragement of resource circulation.
He has a strong interest in the intersection of human rights and the environment, believing that the development of democracy and the restoration of communities are essential to effectively addressing the climate crisis. He majored in European medieval history and modern and contemporary Korean history.

Hyelyn Kim / Head of Resource Conservation Research Division
Since 2015, Hyelyn Kim has been addressing human rights and environmental issues arising from the global supply chains of South Korean companies by releasing reports based on field research.
She has also engaged in institutional improvement efforts, such as legislative proposals and policy recommendations. Her particular interest lies in exploring the significance and limitations of technology- and market-based solutions from a global perspective. She holds a degree in International Politics and a master’s in Urban Environmental Policy.

Sunhwa(Sona) Park / Lead of International Fisheries Team
Majoring in poverty and international development, Sona Park has been involved in campaigns and policy advocacy related to child rights, animal rights, and marine conservation.
Passionate about nature and animals, she works on protecting the environment and promoting the rights of vulnerable groups and non-human animals.

Narae Baek / Head of Administrative Operations Division
Narae Baek oversees key administrative tasks such as budgeting, finance, and contracts, ensuring the smooth operation of the institute’s daily activities.
She majored in law and is keenly interested in practical environmental issues that impact daily life.

Seongha Cho / Researcher
Sungha Cho majored in International Area Studies and is currently a PhD candidate in Social Work.
Her research focuses on socio-economic inequality and health-related issues, with an interest in connecting environmental issues to social justice.
